Who is responsible
Jason Wright, trading as This Is Where To Stay, Vispastrasse 164, 3920 Zermatt, Switzerland. Email hello@thisiswheretostay.com. This statement follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for visitors from the EU and UK, the GDPR.
What we collect
Only what you type into our forms: your trip requirements (group, dates, budget, the kind of place you want), your name and email address, and anything you write in a notes box. If you arrived from one of our videos, we also note which property the video was about. Property owners who use the property or filming forms give us their business contact details and property information.
What we use it for
- To work out which properties fit your trip and reply to you.
- With your consent (the tick box), to contact properties on your behalf and introduce you to them by email.
- Only if you tick the separate marketing box, to email you new property videos and Zermatt tips. Every such email has an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw at any time.
- To keep a record of introductions so referral commission can be accounted for.
Who sees it
- Properties you asked us to contact see your name, email address and trip requirements — nothing else.
- Alto States, our sister service for five-star hotels and luxury chalets, only if your request is at that level and you agree first.
- Service providers that run the site and deliver email for us: Netlify, Inc. (website hosting and form handling) and Resend (email delivery). Both are based in the United States, so your data is processed there. We rely on these providers' participation in the Swiss–US Data Privacy Framework or, where that does not apply, on the standard contractual clauses recognised by the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
We don't sell your details to anyone.
Cookies and tracking
We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or analytics profiling. The questionnaire remembers which video you came from only for your current visit, in your own browser.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for 24 months, so we can answer questions about a past booking and account for referral commission, then deleted. Marketing consent is kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to us using it. Email hello@thisiswheretostay.com and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or to the data protection authority in your own country if you live in the EU or UK.
